Our organic certification: what it really means

"Organic" is a word you see everywhere. For us, it has a precise meaning: a certified farm, inspected every year, and labels that state exactly which ingredients are organic. Here is what it means, without jargon.

A farm certified since 2008

Our farm in Calvi has been certified organic since 2008. It is inspected every year by an independent body, Bureau Veritas, whose code is FR-BIO-10. This code appears on our labels.

What certification means in the field

Organic farming means following a European set of rules: no synthetic chemical fertilisers, no synthetic pesticides, and traceability of every step, from the plot to the product. The inspection checks that these rules are followed.

How to read the organic mention on our labels

A finished product can contain organic ingredients and others that are not. That is why our labels mark ingredients from organic farming with an asterisk. For example, on Immortelle oil:

Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil, Helichrysum Italicum Flower Extract*, Helichrysum Italicum Flower Oil*. *Ingredients from organic farming.

Here, the Immortelle flower extract and the Immortelle essential oil are organic; the grapeseed oil has no asterisk. We prefer this transparency to a vague "100% organic".

Which products carry the mention?

The organic mention appears on the labels of the products concerned, including Immortelle oil, Immortelle and Myrtle dry oil and our essential oils. On each product page, the "Ingredients" tab shows the exact list from the label, asterisks included.

The logos you will see

  • The AB logo, the French organic farming mark.
  • The Euro-leaf, the European Union organic logo.
  • Bio di Corsica, which signals Corsican organic production.

Why it matters to us

Our field is where we work every day. Farming without synthetic products means protecting the land, the surrounding maquis, and the quality of the flower we put in the bottle.
